They went to sleep that night tangled in each other’s limbs. Gemma woke the next morning to watch the luminescence of Ariel’s skin under the morning light.

It happened again that night. And the next one. And the one after that.

The incredible sex. The falling asleep together and the waking up together. Gemma made them breakfast before it was time for work.

Before Gemma knew it or had time to question it, they had fallen into a routine, Ariel was staying at Gemma’s every night.

It felt so right.

Sure, it was a huge lesbian cliche- moving in together after the first date- but it didn’t feel like that this time for Gemma. It just felt natural and right.

And the sex…. well, the sex was just non stop mind-blowing. Gemma felt a connection that she never had before.

She continued getting to know Ariel, growing closer and closer as time went by. They went on dates as often as they could. Romantic picnics in the park during nightfall. Dinner dates. Trips to the best museums around followed by quiet bars and rowdy nightclubs. Gemma worked hard to take more commissions so that she could take fewer shifts at the bookstore, which meant getting to spend more time with Ariel.

They played board games. Read to each other. Cooked together. Even did chores together. Racing to see who could fold their pile of clothes the quickest or who could dust the furniture the best. They cracked stupid jokes with one another, the kind that no one aside from themselves would understand or find funny. They danced in Gemma’s living room late at night. Neither of them was particularly good at dancing, so it ended in laughter in each others arms. Laughter, then kissing, then more sex.

More and more of the incredible sex.

Gemma felt absolutely addicted to Ariel’s body. Her long smooth limbs. The lovely curved lines of her hips and ass. The dipping in of her waist. The fullness of her breasts.

Gemma had explored every inch with her hands and her mouth.

She had spent many happy hours with their limbs entangled until it was difficult to tell whose was whose anymore.

Gemma finally understood why her sister enjoyed going out so much. She’d gotten used to staying inside her house all the time, but Ariel had brought her back out of the shell that she’d put herself inside of for so long. Going out was fun when Gemma had Ariel by her side, exploring things with her.

Everything just felt right when the two of them were together. Things were going so perfectly.

On a surface level, at least. But even with how amazing things were going, and as right as everything felt with Ariel, something still felt…wrong. Off.

It just felt as if there was something that Ariel wasn’t telling her. Something that she wasn’t being honest about. Quite a few things that she wasn’t being honest about, actually.

For instance, her hair.

It really wasn’t a big deal and it’s not as if Gemma had ever asked. It had never come up naturally in a conversation, which is why Ariel had never said anything about it, or so she said.
